The elevator effect from the base of the foot may seem a bit too obvious. User should do their best to hide the top of the shoe with wide pant leg openings of their pant (while still wearing a slim fit pant since slim fit may enhance perception of height).
It may help if the shape of the front of these shoes could be designed to be angled more downward. This would make the look less chunky as well as minimize the platform look. Adding more materials at the front (a fake space not necessarily meant for more toe space) may help add this desired effect.
I purchased half a size larger, fearing the right size will hurt the top of my foot due to the extreme angle. Turns out, it is too large. I put my orthotics on so it is tighter, but now my ankle is higher and just have to make sure my feet does not slip out.
Would definitely need to spend some with them before using them to dance, but I believe it is possible with practice.
