Great shoe, poor quality

I initially liked everything about these shoes and have worn them regularly, under normal city conditions, since purchase. After about ten months, the soles of both shoes split at the ball of the foot and multiple shoe repairers have told me that they can\'t be fixed for less than the price of the shoes because of the sole material and the construction method. I would happily buy these shoes again, and pay more, if they were going to last more than a measly ten months.
