Slides forward a lot...I would not recommend it to anyone. It would be nice if they had some kind of permanent adhesive to stick.

That extra half inch...., November 1, 2014

I'm thinking that I bought these for a different reason than most... I am not at all concerned with being a half inch taller. I am a competitive distance runner and I've had achilles/calf issues for the last year or so. In races, my racing flats tend to have low heels with puts more strain on your achilles/calves which I certainly don't need. Adding the heel lifts relieves some of this. For my purposes these worked well, but they are BIG. The point to wearing racing flats is lighter weight and adding this much weight may have negated some of that advantage. I don't know if they had 1/4" lifts or not, but I'd like to give those a try if they do. However, these did what they claimed to do. They fit well and didn't move around and provided some cushioning as well. (I just ran a 13.1 mile race with them with no ill effects). If you buy them for whatever purpose I hope you are as happy as I was and thanks for taking the time to read my review.

Wore away easily, but would buy again, October 10, 2014

1. Like other reviewers mentioned, these slid down my shoes toward my toes until I put them under the shoe insole. That kept them in place.

2. I could feel the transition from the pad to the shoe base, which was a little awkward.

3. These were nice and gelly. I wanted something a little firmer to help heal my Achilles tendonitis. These let my foot roll a little too much for that.

4. After the first time wearing these, the felt-like surface wore away at all the friction points. I'll upload a photo.

5. There was no packaging with these...they were simply loaded into a brown envelope and shipped to me.

All that being said, I'd buy these again.

These are the first shoe lifts I have ever bought so I don't have much to judge them off but they are very uncomfortable. They slide and mbe around a lot. I don't really like them at all

If you tie up your shoes well, they fit good, but if you like them loose, then maybe they won't be the best fit.

My husband wore these when I first got them, then said they were not that comfortable.
He is fussy so they may just be fine, he hates change!!

Been using them for three months now and they're as sturdy as before. I use them for one leg only where I lost an inch of height after two surgeries and bone grafting. These do help me maintain my balance well while standing/walking etc.

Just bought my second pair!, January 7, 2014

I bought these in August of 2011 and I loved them so much even after 2 years that I just came back and bought another pair so I don't have to switch them out as much between all my shoes. These insoles are simply great!! They're super comfortable and have lasted me over 2 years now. They do move around a little as you take off your shoes but it's never happened so much that it annoyed me. It only happens once in a while for me. Still deserve 5 stars from me. Buy them with confidence!

I have reduced cartilage in my right knee with lots of knee pain when I walk. I've found that having my heel elevated helps to keep my knee from extending all the way when step forward, hence causing less internal contact and less irritation. I wear these under my Dr. prescribed orthotics in a pair of Skechers. These are well made and don't slip around due to the rubber they are made from.

Exactly as described. Very cheap and comfortable. The yellow circle in the middle is almost as soft as the blue gel around it. Comfortable to wear and can't be beat for the price. It fit perfectly into Vans without needing to be cut.

Great product. They work best in shoes that are a bit loose fitting. The height increase is important but too subtle to notice. I'm getting more of them.

The gel is soft, the top is smooth, and the price is a bargain. The only qualm I find is they are a bit thicker than 1/2 inch, closer to 1 inch; which left my shoes comfortable, if snug.

Helpful after adapting, August 12, 2012

I have one leg shorter than the other from a birth defect and have known for years that I needed a heel lift. I haven't used the ones that I have had in the past because they kept slipping around and were just a nuisance. After a doctor's visit showed that my 48 year old right knee was in the early stages of arthris because of the lack of alignment, I realized I needed to do something.

I ordered these because of the other reviews and I found them to be everything that everyone said: the gel was comfortable, the yellow spot was not. They didn't smell bad after wearing, either. It was an ok answer, but not the best. Then I made a couple of adaptations.

1. I pulled out my shoe's insoles and placed the heel lift in and then replaced the shoe's insole. This not only helped make them less noticable, they also prevented them from slipping.

2. As I only needed one heel lifted, I turned the other one over and used it in another shoe.

3. I first tried to slip it in to fit the form of the shoe (right lift turned upside down to align with the left foot shoe). That made the yellow middle hurt like crazy. I then just turned it up with the cushion side down. It didn't fit exactly, but with the shoe's original insole above it, it wasn't noticeable at all.

4. I will note that I used them in my dress shoes and my tennis shoes both. The tennis shoes had their insoles replaced by Dr. Scholl's athletic insoles. The tennis shoes with upgrades insoles were perfect. I'm going to change the dress shoes out to better insoles.

All in all, this was one of the best adaptions I have ever made. Just spoke to my Orthopedic doc and he said I was a genius. As much as I pay him, I'm sure he's very smart. Good lifts... I recommend them. I'm buying another set because I have 4 sets of shoes.

I've tried several lifting insoles and these are some of the best. They don't need to be trimmed down to fit. They have a nice soft velvety top, not like the leather ones I have which would rub-off/stain my socks, and are comfortable. Although they only increase a half an inch, that's perfect because the 1"-2" insoles are just not practical for most shoes except boots. These are better/cleaner for loafers and sneakers or any other lower profile shoe because the taller lifts push you up so far that your heel is almost out of the shoe... too obvious. These are subtle, don't look as ridiculous as some of the other options and nexpensive too.
