But did you know our elevator sneakers can also be customized? In fact, some of our elevator sneakers are basically blank canvasses that you can use to express yourself. Imagine customizing your own sneakers without having to give up your height advantage. It's a double shot of confidence, feeling the extra height and the pride from wearing your own unique sneaks.
Below is a brief breakdown of some of the techniques used by those sneaker artists you'll find online. Take a look at those for inspiration, and then we'll share some fun, easy and non-permanent ways you can customize your own height-boosting sneakers.
Advanced Art
Some sneaker artists create custom sneakers using a combination of marker and acrylic paints on fabric or canvas shoes. Covering a leather shoe with a piece of fabric allows them to use standard acrylic or fabric paints. With strategically placed painters tape on areas they want to alter, they bring their visions to life.
Advanced Deconstruction
This process is not for casual sneaker art enthusiasts! For custom shoes that have all the polish you'd expect from a manufacturer, the sneaker artist must first take them apart. This is important for coloring individual leather trim pieces or panels. They may need a sewing machine stronger than your average Singer, but it can be done. (Heck, there's even a pro who teaches classes in several major cities.)
Customizing Sneakers with Laces and Accessories
Assuming you don't want to paint or deconstruct your elevator sneakers (and frankly, we don't recommend it!), there are still fun things you can do to give your elevator shoes some extra style.
One of the easiest things you can do is to throw on a new pair of laces. The different colors can make a neutral pair of sneakers pop, and it's simple and fun to swap laces out for a color that matches your outfit, or just lets the world know what your favorite color is. You can even add glow-in-the-dark laces.
You can also add fun accessories to your height-boosting sneakers, like miniature keychains or mini carabiners. You can even integrate shoelace charms, which are little plastic or metal embellishments made to adorn your laces. Wear some flashy gold-tone ones for some extra shine.

]]>Height-increasing insoles like the ones we offer at TallMenShoes.com are made to offer a slight boost in height, but there are different types. Certain pairs of insoles for height increase offer certain features that may appeal to you more than others. Let's explore what they are.
The Basics
First, it's important to understand that height-increasing insoles are built to go inside a pair of your shoes. They offer all the comfort and cushioning you would expect from a normal pair of inserts, of course. But they also feature a wedge, building toward the heel, that helps you stand taller by up to an inch and a half.
They are a great way for you to upgrade a pair of your shoes in a way that can build confidence and also enhance comfort. However, they don't work well with all shoes: If the back of the shoe isn't very tall, you run the risk of the shoe slipping off. So, pick more high-profile dress shoes, high-top sneakers or hiking boots for use with height-increasing insoles. Avoid low-rise options such as loafers or skateboard shoes.
Variety
Once you have picked a pair of shoes appropriate for use with height-increasing insoles, evaluate when you wear those shoes. That will help steer you toward a pair that meets as many of your needs as possible.
Varieties include:

Height-Increase Insoles
Height-increase insoles are made to go inside a pair of your shoes. They offer all the cushion and comfort of standard insoles, but feature a wedge at the heel that can boost your height by up to an inch and a half.
Because they are only the insole, they are less expensive than a pair of elevator shoes. But they cannot go inside just any pair of shoes - they are greatly helped by more height at the back heel. So while they are fine for a pair of boots or most dress shoes, loafers, sandals or anything with a lower heel won't work well with them. This is also why they generally don't boost by more than an inch and a half; increases of 3 inches or more require special construction within the shoe.
Height-boosting insoles may be the best option for people who:
Elevator Shoes
Elevator shoes offer several other features, in addition to the height-increasing insoles, that help men stand taller. Those features can result in height boosts of as much as 5 inches.
The height-increasing insoles inside elevator shoes do much of the work, but cleverly designed heels and more can push height even higher. High-quality elevator shoes from TallMenShoes.com are designed to look just like standard shoes, so that no one will ever suspect they have height-increasing properties. And because they are designed as an entire shoe, with all components designed to work together, they look just as fashionable as other popular brands of shoes.
For obvious reasons, the price of elevator shoes runs higher than just insoles - you're buying the whole shoe here. Elevator shoes may be the best option for men who:

]]>People might think they are locked into their height thanks to genetics, but that's not always the case. There are ways that people can take advantage of parts of the body that can help increase overall height. That means you can learn a stretch exercise for height growth.
While a pair of elevator shoes provides an instant boost, that boost disappears once you take the shoes off.
High-intensity anaerobic exercises such as stretching, swimming and cycling are shown by medical researchers to force the body into producing significant quantities of human growth hormone.
Exercise-induced growth hormone (EIG) is well-recognized physiologically, and is caused from acid-base balance, catecholamines, nitric oxide and lactate. Of these, the main causes of human growth hormone secretion appear to be nitric oxide and lactate. Both of which are produced by resistance training.
Your goal during stretching is to apply resistance-training stretches that yield high amounts of human growth hormone secretion. Human growth hormone will thicken the cartilage, increase bone density, and make you grow taller. This is why we cannot emphasize enough the importance of the intensity you need to apply with each and every stretch to grow taller.
This means have to exercise for a minimum of ten minutes with great intensity to increase your odds of growing taller. The intensity you build must be enough to lactate into your muscles for height increase. This lactate will activate growth hormone secretion even after exercise, during normal rest periods for longer than 24 hours. Your body literally becomes a growth hormone manufacturing machine to increase the possibility of any height increase.
No other method, supplement, or technique can yield better height increase results than stretching exercises. All you need is to perform our stretching exercises correctly and you will grow taller.
The stories of the military are true. Enlistees get started early in learning how to shine their boots to a mirror polish. You don't need to have served in the army to become a veteran of polishing shoes.
Just listen to one soldier's story, and instructional.
"There I was, staring down at my lackluster boots with a sinking feeling in my stomach. It was day two of basic training and we had just been informed that we had one hour to get our boots as shiny as our cadre's (each looked as if they were covered in glass) or we weren't going to like the repercussions. Never in my life had I shined a pair of shoes and now I was under the gun, trying to inconspicuously imitate my roommate who grew up a military brat and had been doing it since he was five. I learned very quickly how to shine shoes that day. Not quickly enough, but that's another story for another time."
Chances are, unless you join the military, you will never have to face punishment for not having shiny shoes. You may, however, punish yourself if you don't polish and shine your kicks regularly. A well-polished pair of shoes makes a good impression, and can give you confidence in some intimidating situations. Nonetheless, it is a great skill to have a good practice of polishing your shoes in your man arsenal. Whether it's an upcoming wedding, graduation or simply another day at the office, a pair of shiny shoes can set you apart as a man who knows how to take care of himself.
Our elevator shoes are made from the same materials as the ones already in your wardrobe. That means you can make use of a military shoeshine kit. Shoe polish, shoe cream and other tools help you keep your elevator shoes looking sharp.
Not only does shining your shoes look good, it is a necessary part of properly caring for and maintaining a nice pair of leather shoes or boots. A regular polishing routine will help them last longer, and look better too. The polish helps moisturize and waterproof the leather, lengthening a shoe's lifespan.
Prepare to take some notes. If you don't know, or need a refresher, we'll teach you how to shine shoes, and why shining shoes is such a good idea.
How To Shine Your Shoes Like a Soldier
There are a lot of opinions when it comes to the best way to shine a shoe. Everyone has their own unique twist from using spit to using a lighter to burn the topcoat of polish (cool, although potentially dangerous). The process below is a simple one that I have used for many years and it has worked fine for me and many of my military peers.
First, you want to assemble a kit with dedicated rags and brushes specific to polishing shoes. These rags and brushes will get polish and other cleaners and won't be suitable for other projects.
Step 1: Find an old towel or newspaper to spread over the area you will be working on. Shoe polish has an uncanny ability to get smeared everywhere even when you're being extremely careful - and it's really hard to get out of carpet. It's even difficult to clean off floors once it's been smeared in.
Step 2: Clean the dust and dirt off your boots with a horsehair shine brush or damp rag. If you must get your boots a little wet to clean them off, allow them time to dry before applying the polish.
Step 3: Cover the entire shoe with a generous amount of polish, using your shoe polish brush. The polish I'm using is black Kiwi® Shoe Polish, but be sure to match the color of the polish to your shoe as closely as possible. You can find polish in a range of colors, and the basics are black, brown and tan. Make sure you get down in the seams of the shoe and attempt to cover evenly with polish. Allow 15 minutes for the polish to dry.
Step 4: Brush the entire shoe vigorously using the horsehair shine brush. The point of this is to basically brush off all the excess polish, leaving only a small film on the outside of the shoe.
Step 5: Once you feel comfortable that the entire shoe has been covered and brushed it is time to focus on the toe and heel for extra shine. Dip a cotton ball or pad into some water and squeeze out any excess moisture so it is damp, not dripping. Then get a little polish on the damp cotton. Next, apply the polish on the toe and heel of the shoe using small circular motions. Sit back, this is going to take a while. You may go through a few cotton pads or other materials as you work the polish into the toes and heels.
Step 6: Repeat Step 5 until you are satisfied with the level of shine. Remember to use a new piece of cotton each time and to remove all excess polish before applying a new coating. Also, the initial shine is the hardest, it should get a bit easier each time you do it. In basic training, my boots were fairly new, and this was my first time giving them a good shine. From start to finish, it took me approximately 45 minutes to get them to the state that was acceptable to my drill sergeant. Most of this was spent with the cotton pads shining the toe and heel. Each time I set out to polish my boots after that it took me half the time to do the same job.
Building a Shoe-Shine Kit:
Before you try to build one, if you have black shoes you can always just buy the one sold on military bases worldwide and the one I use. It is basic, cheap and has worked for me for six years. If, however, you want a nicer kit, different colors of polish, or just like being independent, there are many kits available on the market. You can also build your own with the tools you need, and replace items as necessary. Here are the items you need:
Extra Thoughts:
For those of you who are really hardcore, you can clean up the edges of the sole by purchasing Army edge dressing. It's basically black goop that goes around the edge of the sole and makes it look shiny. I'm not a fan of it, but you may feel the urge at some point.
Set a rough schedule to polish your shoes and boots regularly, such as once a month or at the end of a season. It's best to do maintenance before you give your shoes a rest, as any dirt or stains will have time to set if you wait until you want to start wearing your shoes again. Break the schedule if you get stuck in a rainstorm, end up stepping in deep puddles or have other mishaps. Get to your polishing kit pronto, once your shoes have had time to dry out.

Women use heel heights of shoes strategically, based on their outfit needs. This is easier for women, because high heels are accepted for them and shoemakers offer so much variety.
Men can do the same thing with our elevator shoes. A lot of famous men already are. They just can't advertise it, because of our culture. It's not like guys can find a pair of signature Tom Cruise elevator shoes or Robert Downey Jr. shoe lifts.
Settle in, this blog has a lot of good information to review about picking the best heights for your needs.
Pick your Needs
There are lots of reasons to wear elevator shoes. If you are thinking about purchasing a pair of elevator shoes to step out in stylish stature, you will have to make some decisions first. In addition to considering how many inches you want to add to your height, you will also want to think about how and where you will use your new shoes. Style and looks will also be important.
If you think elevator shoes will look outdated and clunky, think again. These days, height-increasing shoes are available in a wide variety of appealing styles. Stylish elevator shoes come in all sorts of shapes and sizes for all occasions.
First, you should consider how you will be using your elevator shoes and where you will be wearing them. Thanks to the availability of trendy styles, you will have plenty of choices.
You want to select the right pair of shoes for the right occasion. A pair of elevator sneakers would be perfect for sports or casual wear, for instance, whereas a pair of formal men's shoes that add height would be ideal for wearing at the office or during an important social event.
You will want the right size to fit your feet, of course. That will be easy, because elevator shoes are categorized with the same measurement methods as standard shoes.
We have a size suggestion page if you need additional help.
Determine Height
But you also may be wondering, how many inches should my elevator shoes be? That is, rather than the length of your feet, you will need to consider how many inches you want your new elevator shoes to increase your height.
In general, elevator shoes available nowadays can make you approximately two to five inches taller. That gives a wide range of options for men. The selection of tall shoes will depend on many factors. Most important, of course, are your actual height and your own personal preferences and taste.
First, you should consider the average height of men and women where you live. These averages differ by country.
In the U.S., the average adult male stands 5' 10" tall, while the average adult female is 5' 4". For American men under 5 1/2 feet or so, taller elevator shoes are often the best choice. Studies show that taller men tend to generate more respect in work environments as well as from the opposite sex. You will feel confident and empowered when you stride into a room with these trendy shoes.
Your choice of shoes also depends on where and how often you will use them. If you are planning to don a pair of elevator shoes to impress a date, and she is significantly taller than you are in your plain shoes, then going for three to four inches in extra lift is a smart choice. In addition, shoes are the first thing many women look at. Wearing those maximum height-enhancing shoes to an important job interview also makes sense, because the folks who interview you will be instantly if unconsciously impressed by your commanding presence. At the same time, you will feel more confident while answering the sometimes nerve-racking questions job-seekers must handle during interviews. On the other hand, wearing elevator shoes that boost your height by four to five inches may be overkill if you wear them with people who have become used to seeing you in your standard shoes at your actual height. Although properly worn elevator shoes are virtually unnoticeable to all but the most practiced eye, many folks who know you will become suspicious when they see you have grown nearly half a foot taller overnight.
In situations where you are dealing with folks you know, such as family or long-time friends or co-workers, it is usually wiser to go with elevator shoes that add just two or three inches to your stature. It is amazing just what a couple of inches can do. These shoes punch above their weight and can instill an amazing amount of confidence. You will take chances you may have never considered before, whether in business, family affairs or your love life.
Another option is insoles, which can add 1/2 to 1 1/2 inches to your stature. Although this may seem like a small amount, you will be surprised what even an added inch in stature can accomplish. People around you will start to look up to you, emotionally as well as physically. Part of that will be due to the newfound confidence you will feel when you are standing tall. Also, you will enjoy the improved posture that elevator shoes and inserts deliver.
If you have a wife, girlfriend or significant other who is taller than you, consider wearing a pair of lifts or elevator shoes that will bring you up to or slightly above her level. Even though some women may say they don't care about a man's size, it's an evolutionary fact that females traditionally prefer taller males, whom for eons they have naturally associated with greater protection and security. So, if your spouse or girlfriend is about one inch taller than you, a pair of insoles should be enough to get you to stand beside her at her level or perhaps a notch above. You will feel more confident and look better together as a couple.

TallMenShoes.com will help you learn about people's average height by country, so you can know exactly what you are walking into. Our wonderful world is defined and described by interesting statistics, and the height average by country is certainly compelling for our customers. Especially those who travel: Some men use elevator shoes to adjust their height and stature strategically, the same way women do with high heels. Curious about the average male height? Keep reading. As most people know, average heights differ from country to country. People tend to be taller in northern latitudes and short closer to the equator. Genetics and nutrition play the most important roles in determining height. Some countries saw a marked increase in average height last century when food became abundant enough to feed the population. In many of these countries, older people, who did not have the benefit of better nutrition, are significantly shorter than the younger generations. The table below lists the height for different countries and the sources[ 1 ] for that data. Significant digits are preserved from the source. In some cases, a height is accurate to .1 inches (or .1 cm) while in others it is only accurate to 1 inch (or .1cm). Multiple studies for a country might determine different heights because of the age group studied or the year the study was conducted.

This is a common question we get from people who have misconceptions about what elevator shoes are:
Question:
My 5-inch shoe is only elevated at the heel area, and I walk funny in them. The shoe is not flat! Why isn't it flat? Why should I keep wearing them?
Answer:
The confusion comes from the fact there are two types of height-increasing shoes for men: Platform shoes and elevator shoes. While the two terms are often used interchangeably, there are some major differences, and it's important to know what they are and why they matter.
For a "platform shoe," the entire shoe is flat and raised. Platform shoes are often considered bulky and some people call it a "clown shoe". During the late 1960s up through the 1970s, a platform shoe was an acceptable men's fashion choice. But as hippie culture fell by the wayside, the shoes did as well - at least for men. (Platform shoes are still a regular trend for women's shoes.)
Elevator shoes are a modern way to adopt this height-increasing feature in a less bulky and more stylish form. The big advantage is that the height-boosting features are tucked away in the natural features of a shoe, subtly hiding them using heel height, insoles and other tricks.
These lift shoes are, in fact, high-heeled, and they tend to be more comfortable than their female counterpart (women's high heels). The shoe is designed to discreetly increase height by building the lifting hardware into the heel and insole instead of putting it all beneath the outsole. The result is a lifting shoe that looks and feels more like a regular shoe, giving you the boost you're looking for with maximum comfort.
Of course, this type of shoe takes some getting used to. Because much of the booster is in the heel, your feet are positioned differently as you walk than if you were in regular shoes or barefoot. Essentially, the balls of your feet sit lower than your heel when standing in elevator shoes, creating a different foot motion.
Typically, we don't recommend a first-time elevator user go over three inches of increase so they can adjust. But it is possible to walk normally even in four to five-inch shoes after you gradually up the increase from two to three inches. We will continue to try our best to educate buyers that, while there is a "learning curve," it is achievable to be taller and look good.
Learn some tactics for growing taller with this help from TallMenShoes.com.
No matter how tall we are, most of us would love to be a bit taller. Only the extremely tall might wish to go in the opposite direction. Most of us wonder if there is anything we can do to help our growth, and ask questions such as "Does sleeping with your legs straight make you taller?"
Many young men and women of below-average height think their shorter stature is inherited, entirely out of their control. This, in fact, is not true. According to Scientific American, only 60 to 80 percent of a person's final height is because of genetics; the other 20 to 40 percent is because of environmental factors and lifestyle choices. In other words, making good decisions while you are young really can help you grow taller.
Furthermore, there may still be time for you. For most people, the growth plates that control height close in their early- to mid-teens. But in some cases, these plates remain open into their late teens and even early 20s. (One of the most famous examples of this is NBA Hall-of-Famer David Robinson, who was 6' 7" when he enrolled at the U.S. Naval Academy and 7' 1" when he graduated four years later.)
At TallMenShoes.com, we help people stand taller using external methods. With well-designed elevator shoes that look just as eye-catching and fashionable as those found in your favorite shoe store, you can stand taller and feel a boost of confidence throughout your day. While our TOTO, CALTO and CALDEN lines of elevator shoes can give an immediate boost, getting your body working and growing in the right direction takes a much more intensive look at your eating, sleeping and activity habits.
We've looked at some of the healthy ways to add height for pre-teens, teens and young adults who want to be taller. Grab something delicious to drink and a comfy seat: this piece is TOWERING with information.
Do you think you know the correct regular diet that you need to follow every day in order to grow taller? Now, ask yourself a simple question: what is my favorite food and drink? If your answer includes anything like the following: sandwiches, hamburgers, fries, pizza, pasta, bread, cereal, rice, cookies, cake, candy, ice cream, chicken, pork, beef, soft drinks, beer or coffee then forget about growing taller.
The correct diet you need to grow taller is a proper combination of proteins, vitamins and minerals. So your regular diet should be rich in these three types of nutrients.
A common regular diet that will stunt height growth includes too many carbohydrates. Carbohydrates are usually rich in foods like rice, bread, potatoes, corn and other cereal grains. You should avoid eating too many carbohydrates because they contain lots of energy but few vital nutrients that can help your body grow.
Another common diet that will stunt height and growth is one that includes too many lipids (fats). There are two main types of fats: saturated fats and unsaturated fats. Saturated fats are mostly bad because they have high levels of cholesterol; this can cause heart disease because arteries could be clogged with fatty material. So, avoid eating excessive saturated fats. Animal meats such as chicken, pork and beef are rich in saturated fats, so you should avoid eating them too often.
Unsaturated fats are much better for your body because they contain much lower cholesterol and calorie amounts. Since you do need some fats to insulate your body and regulate your metabolism, you're better off ingesting more unsaturated fats to satisfy your body's needs.
Vegetable oils contain large amounts of unsaturated fats. Commonly used unsaturated vegetable oils are corn, soy, cottonseed and safflower oils. Note that raw milk and butter contain lots of saturated fats; therefore, you should drink skim milk and cook with vegetable oils instead of butter.
Sweet foods like cookies, cake and ice cream also have very high saturated fat and calorie contents; therefore, you should avoid eating them too much.
The best foods for complete proteins (those that contain the most appropriate distribution of amino acids for growth) are fish, eggs, milk and legumes. These foods contain most of the 20 amino acids that are part of the genetic code, including the nine essential amino acids that are not synthesized by your body. Therefore, replace rice, bread and hamburger with fish, eggs and skim milk.
Does sleeping make you taller? It is during deep sleep that human growth hormone does its job of thickening and lengthening your bones. (This hormone has gotten a bad rap as a synthetic performance-enhancing drug, but the version that your body naturally produces is vital for overall health and recovery.) So appropriate time for quality sleep, and correct sleeping posture, are very important for your body to grow.
Sleep is defined as a natural periodic state of rest for the mind and body. During this period, the eyes usually close and consciousness is completely or partially lost so there is a decrease in bodily movement and responsiveness to external stimuli. During deep sleep, growth hormone produced by your pituitary gland is released into your bloodstream and travels through your body, causing the thickening and lengthening of your bones. Therefore, you should achieve "deep level" sleep daily in order to coordinate your exercise and proper diet.
The following are some helpful tips on how to easily achieve deep-level sleep:
Quality of Sleep, Not Quantity
Each person has their own specific daily sleep requirement. It is not true that the more you sleep, the better it is for your growth. Too much sleep will cause your body to develop laziness and slow down your metabolism, thus increasing the danger of weight gain. On average, a young adult who is growing needs at least eight hours of sleep every day. Teens need nine hours or more. However, this is just an average and may only apply to some people.
The best way to figure out the exact amount of sleeping time you need is not to calculate it at all. Just go to sleep early every night, do not use an alarm clock and let yourself wake up naturally. Your body has its own biological clock which can determine the exact amount of sleep it needs. As long as you have good sleeping habits and do not break them (by forcing yourself to stay up too late or get up too early), your body will take good care of itself. Also, it is easy to detect if you get enough sleep each day. If you are energetic and do not feel sleepy or very tired for the whole day, then you got the right amount of sleep last night. Otherwise, you need to readjust your schedule.
Appropriate sleep posture is also very important for growth. Sleeping with correct posture can help lengthen your spine and increase your height; sleeping with incorrect posture can strain your neck, shoulders and back, which stunts growth. The following are some helpful tips on how to sleep with appropriate posture.
The Importance of Effective Breathing for Growth
Effective breathing is essential for growing taller. Effective breathing draws sufficient oxygen into your body to facilitate biochemical reactions and stimulate growth. Only deep breathing is effective; shallow breathing is ineffective and actually stunts growth. Interestingly, anger leads to shallow breathing and therefore stunts growth. So make sure you keep yourself happy as much as possible.
Deep Breathing Exercise
You should perform the following deep breathing exercise every day as well as before and after you sleep. The more often you do this deep breathing exercise, the better results you will get.

Elements to Achieve the Best Results:
Boost Your Growth Hormones
Size may matter, but in some cases, the smallest thing can have the biggest impact. In this case, it's that grape-sized organ called the anterior pituitary gland nestled within your brain. Despite its small dimensions, it is a source of powerful juice when it comes to building height. You see, the anterior pituitary gland is responsible for secreting somatotropin hormone, more commonly known as "growth hormone", into your bloodstream.
Without that tiny gland, it wouldn't matter how well you eat or how much exercise you do; building your physique would become an exercise in futility. Why? "It's somatotropin hormone that dictates how your body will adapt itself from all your height-increasing efforts," says Ed Burke, Ph.D., director of the Exercise Science Program at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs.
Acting as your body's foreman, growth hormone instructs your skeletal bone to grow larger and stronger while it speeds the conversion of excess fats into energy. In other words, get enough growth hormone floating around in your system and your body has no choice but to construct itself into something bigger and better. Cheat yourself from acquiring your fair share and your body can only do so much, no matter how much you do.
Although the amount of growth hormone your body regularly produces is entirely up to your brain, there are a few things you can do to trick that thrifty gland into being a bit more generous. Pay attention to these nine proven ways to make your body work for you:
It's simple math. Add eight hours to the time you went to bed, then look at your alarm clock before peeling yourself from the sheets. "Not getting enough sleep regularly can lower the amount of growth hormone your body produces daily," says Walter Thompson, Ph.D., director of the Center for Sports Medicine, Science and Technology at Georgia State University in Atlanta.
Even though excess sleep won't necessarily increase the amount of growth hormone your body secretes, constantly burning your midnight oil could be suppressing how efficiently your body distributes growth hormone during the course of the day. Keeping normal sleeping habits may let you tap into a certain percentage of growth hormone that your bones never get to utilize when sleep-deprived.
Focus on eating six or seven smaller meals during your day instead of three or four larger ones. Consuming large meals with a high glycemic index forces the body to release a high amount of insulin into the system to aid digestion. This reaction not only forces your body to store fat, it may also inhibit the flow of the growth hormone being released throughout your bloodstream. Instead, make a point of consuming other low-sugar foods that will prevent the release of insulin.
The crossover between what you need to stay healthy and what you need to release more growth hormone doesn't stop with eating smaller meals and getting enough shut-eye. All the same factors that need to be in place for a healthy lifestyle still hold true. Training right, eating right, sleeping right and keeping your stress to a minimum will not only keep you healthier, they will also foster the type of environment that encourages the anterior pituitary gland to do its job. Deficits in any of these areas will slow down how well your body functions as a whole, reducing the amount of growth hormone continually pumped into your system.
Eat a small sandwich a couple of hours before you exercise. Food researchers have discovered that consuming a protein- and carbohydrate-rich meal two hours prior to working out and another meal immediately afterward elicited a significant increase in both growth hormone and testosterone within the bloodstream.
Even if you're not hungry at the moment, you may want to consider having a snack to prevent hunger within the two-hour window before you work out. Researchers at UCLA found that subjects who exercised with partially digested food in their stomachs experienced up to a 54 percent decrease in growth hormone production. Subjects who were fed strictly carbohydrates prior to a workout still experienced lower production of growth hormone by up to 24 percent.
What you put your body through during your stretching and exercise routine has a direct effect on what your pituitary gland puts out to build height. To get the most from your training efforts, you need to be sure that the duration and intensity of your regimen are high enough to elicit a response. Keeping your workouts focused on short-burst, high-intensity anaerobic stretching exercises and maintaining a pace that lasts at least 20 to30 minutes is a fair standard.
There are certain stretching exercises that may help squeeze out a little extra growth hormone. By utilizing stretches that include several muscle groups which work collectively, the intensity of the workout subsequently increases as well, forcing the anterior pituitary gland to issue more growth hormone to compensate for the extra effort.
Oddly enough, participating in intense aerobic exercise can also cause an increase in growth hormone release. However, what keeps marathoners from looking like basketball athletes is that their bodies react differently to the substance because of the activity they participate in.
It is like having someone who never lifts weights using a muscle-building supplement. They have the building blocks within their system, but unless the endurance athlete is performing a significant amount of resistance-stretching exercises, the body never recognizes a demand to use these tools effectively to help restructure.
Taking the amino acid glycine immediately before you work out can mildly stimulate the release of growth hormone, but only when taken as a supplement. Trying to achieve the same effect by consuming glycine-rich foods such as milk right before exercise inhibits growth hormones, causing you to exercise on a full stomach. Also, the glycine doesn't get absorbed in the same way. Being introduced into the body in the presence of additional amino acids forces the glycine to compete for transport across the blood-brain barrier, diminishing its effect on the growth hormone levels. The only way glycine can cause a reaction is when taken in isolated supplement form, preferably on an empty stomach to speed up absorption and prevent outside interference from other amino acids.
Never eat a large meal within three hours of going to sleep. The reasoning ties into avoiding the same insulin surge you're trying to prevent during the day, but this abstention is especially important before bedtime. The body releases the greatest amount of growth hormone during the first two hours of sleep. Excess insulin within the system after a large meal suppresses this higher output of growth hormone, preventing your body from taking advantage of it as you rest.
Nighttime also seems to be the best time to take additional supplements to increase the flow of growth hormone. UCLA researchers have found that taking the amino acid arginine and ornithine together on an empty stomach right before bedtime can boost growth hormone levels significantly. However, the amounts required to see a difference were between 40 and 60 grams, dosages too large to take in any version besides injectable form. There are safer, more accessible supplements you can try, such as 5-hydroxy tryptophan, a safer derivative of tryptophan. This sleep aid used to encourage drowsiness also helps the brain release growth hormone.
Success begins with a strong and positive mind filled with motivation and determination. However, in reality, most people around you have weak and negative minds. When facing difficulties or adversities, their favorite words are "impossible" and "give up." If you do not acquire mental toughness, you will easily become their victim and end up quitting your own dreams.
Visualization is the best thing you can do as part of any program. See yourself where you want to be! Visualize yourself one foot taller. Make a detailed image of it - what will you look like, how will you feel and what the other people's reactions are? Notice the people around you as they admire your stature. Can you see them drooling while they imagine being you? Do you notice how some of them lift up their eyebrows as they greet you? Do you feel the respect and submissiveness that they must give to you? Doing this visualization can help you achieve any goal, and being taller is one of them.
]]>Not all is bad for people with below-average height. TallMenShoes.com can help shorter people take stock of the advantages of being short and use them skillfully.
It's easy for short people to feel overlooked in a land of giants. But the last laugh may be on the giants, as those of shorter stature have proven advantages that often are beneficial in the long run. We've compiled the top five benefits of being short and how they might help you live a healthier, longer life.
Sure, those who are shorter sometimes can't reach the top shelf. But shorter people of the same proportions as taller people have many physical advantages based on the laws of physics. These advantages are supported by many researchers. Among them, shorter people have:
As a result of these physical attributes, shorter people can excel as gymnasts, divers, skiers, martial artists, rock climbers, figure skaters, rodeo riders, soccer players and long-distance runners. Within their weight classes, they are also excellent wrestlers, boxers and weightlifters.
You will probably get seriously hurt less often. And it's not just about not hitting your heads on things.
Shorter people are less likely to break a hip, arm or wrist from falling. This is because they don't have as far to fall, so the impact won't be as hard. Certain physical environments, such as workspaces and airplanes, are less likely to cause neck, back and back problems in smaller people. In addition, shorter people are also less likely to require surgery for herniated spinal discs.
Another advantage of smaller people is that they are less likely to die in auto crashes. One study found that people weighing less than 132 pounds had the lowest risk of dying or suffering serious injuries compared to those that are bigger. Although height data wasn't provided, it is known that height and weight tend to be correlated. Thus, lighter-weight people are more likely to be shorter than heavier people. No adjustments for airbag deployment were made, although other studies have found them to negatively affect short people.
An early paper illustrating the greater longevity of shorter people appeared in the Bulletin of the World Health Organization in 1992. Since then, there have been substantial findings showing that shorter, smaller people live longer. This is because larger bodies have more cells and these cells are subject to replacement due to wear or damage. Famed researcher Leonard Hayflick pointed out many years ago that most human body cells have limited capacity for duplication. Because bigger people require a larger number of duplications to reach maturity, they have fewer potential cell doublings left to replace defective or dead cells. Thus, the functional capability of vital organs declines with advanced age because damaged cells can't be replaced.
Furthermore, biologist Dr. Armand Leroi discovered in 2005 that the hormone which controls height (Insulin-like Growth Factor, or IGF) also controls aging. So while people with deficiencies in this hormone will be shorter, they likely will live longer. A new study also showed that oxidative damage to cells increases at a higher rate with increasing height; e.g., an 18 percent increase in height leads to an 83 percent increase in cellular damage. Current gerontological thinking is that oxidative damage leads to aging and death.
The risk of certain diseases is also lower. A few years ago, a comprehensive study of about 300 height and cancer papers concluded that taller people had a 20 to 60 percent higher incidence of cancer compared to shorter people. More recently, breast, testicular and prostate cancer studies found taller women and men suffered from substantially higher cancer rates.
We should point out that, although the risk is lower, short people are not immune to death from heart disease, cancer and other causes. Failure to control diet, physical inactivity, weight, depression and anger can lead to serious health problems. Therefore, poor health and mental practices can reduce longevity for people of any height.
In 2004, Thomas T. Samaras and his associates published a paper in the Medical Science Monitor which reviewed published data showing that shorter people have a lower risk of cardiovascular disease. Data from Europe, California, Native American tribes, Japan, Okinawa, Papua New Guinea, Pakistan and India showed large increases in coronary heart disease as height increased. The report was based on millions of deaths as well as both heterogeneous and homogeneous population samples.
Earlier studies by other researchers either found that shorter people have more incidents of cardiovascular disease than taller people or that there is little difference between tall and short people. A recent study in Korea found no significant relationship between height and heart disease. In recent years, researchers have also reported that an increased risk of heart disease in short people may be due to higher levels of cholesterol and body weight. Many studies from traditional societies have found very little to no cardiovascular disease among these populations which are almost always quite short and light.
In addition to potentially having a lower risk of heart disease, short people also have a lower risk of blood clots. Dr. Sigrid Braekkan of Norway's University of Trono discovered in 2010 that men taller than 5-foot-8 are up to 2.5x more likely than shorter people to develop venous thromboembolism, a collection of conditions that leads to recurring clotting. It is believed that this is because muscles have to pump blood farther in tall people, which can lead to reduced flow in the extremities.
A population of six billion people averaging six feet and 190 pounds can impact human survival by creating more pollution and depletion of resources, such as water, energy, minerals, farmland and oil. The reason for this is that a 6-foot person weighing 190 pounds is 73 percent heavier and has 44 percent more surface area than a 5-foot person weighing 110 pounds. (The weight difference is based on tall and short people having the same proportions.)
If the future U.S. population increased by 20 percent, we would need additional 1.5 billion tons of minerals, plastics, and metals; 86 trillion additional gallons of fresh water; 180 million additional acres of farmland; and 80 million added tons of garbage. We would also produce three billion tons of additional carbon dioxide, involved in global heating. And everything else we use in modern society would increase because things are usually scaled to average human size. The current average height in the U.S. is approximately 5-foot-10 for men and 5-foot-4 for women. But the height of a generation can drop if fewer resources are available, as seen in underdeveloped countries.

]]>Elevator shoes have been boosting the confidence of men for generations; however, some people are confused on how exactly they accomplish this. Their simple yet genius design is the perfect way for men to get the mindset change that comes with being even just slightly taller. Let's discuss how this effect is achieved below.
Elevator Shoes TechnologyThe technology behind elevator shoes is quite simple. Instead of having a completely hollow area inside the shoe, a height increasing layer is built-in at the bottom. This layer will add a few inches to the wearer's height, acting as a sort of manly high-heel. Insertable shoe lifts are another way to achieve this effect. The height-increasing layer also creates a non-flat surface that may seem confusing to some at first. Because of this, elevator shoes often come with a break-in time. However, the positive benefits that elevator shoes onset are well worth the short break-in period that comes with the uneven surface. These benefits will be discussed below.
The Positive Effects of Elevator ShoesThere are numerous benefits that come with wearing elevator shoes. Firstly, elevator shoes give the wearer a slight boost to their height, which can onset slight to massive increases in confidence. Men who aren't subconsciously thinking about their height will be worrying less, and therefore be more confident and attractive to their peers.
Certain sized elevator shoes will add a very subtle increase to the wearer's height, allowing them to feel the confidence boost without friends and family noticing a difference. This can be a game-changer for those who do not want others to know that they are wearing elevator shoes. The mindset shift that can come with not worrying about height discrepancies can be life-changing in some instances, allowing the wearer to say and do things that they previously wouldn't have.

When purchasing elevator shoes online the question that comes into play is whether the shoes is what it looks like in real person vs the image. We advise to look closer the product image to see if it is altered, photoshopped in a way that is very manipulative.
Also we find a number of imitating seller selling similar style of our shoes from offshore website. While these shoes are manufactured oversea intended for the local market with their own sizing measurement, the logistic issue shipping them into United States will potentially raise custom duties issues, delays for international parcels. Furthermore, the after-sale support including returns, warranty, exchange support will be lack lustered at best.

Damn you, tall people. They block your view at the movie theater. They're a pain to shop for: Who really wants to drag themselves to the Big & Tall to buy Uncle Lurch a pair of extra-long pants? They're the ones with better chances of becoming pro basketball players, or supermodels.
Squirts probably don't need any more reasons to envy their longer-limbed neighbors. Unfortunately, a new study just added to the indignity of short people. According to a paper from the National Bureau of Economic Research, both men and women who are above average height 5 ft. 10 in. for males, 5 ft. 4 in. for females report higher levels of happiness than smaller people.
In the study, men who call their lives the "worst possible" are nearly an inch shorter than the average man. The women most down in the dumps are half an inch smaller, on average, than the average woman. Taller people say they are more content, and are less likely to report a range of negative emotions like sadness and physical pain. "Happiness is just one more thing that taller people have going for them," says Angus Deaton, a Princeton economist and co-author of the study, who stands a smug 6 ft. 4 in. (Full disclosure: I, too, am about 6 ft. 4 in., but I will refrain from mocking shrimps in this story.)
Why are tall people happier? According to Deaton's analysis, the result is linked to education and income. The study found that taller people tend to have more education, and thus higher income levels, than shorter people. It follows that the smarter, richer tall people would be sunnier than their vertically challenged compatriots. "Money buys enjoyment and higher life evaluation," says Deaton. "It buys off stress, anger, worry and pain. Income is the thing!"
To gain some real-world insight into these stats, I called the first smart short person I could think of, a friend named Milton Lee. Despite what these studies indicate, smart short people do exist. Milt, a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, made a killing as a Wall Street trader in the 1990s, but quit finance to chase his dream of becoming a basketball coach. He has trained many NBA players, including this year's top draft pick, Oklahoma's Blake Griffin, and even landed an assistant coaching gig for the Los Angeles Clippers' summer-league team.
Despite giving up an healthy Wall Street income, Lee, who claims he's 5 ft. 9 in. but admits to being 5 ft. 8 in. when pressed, considers himself content. "I'm not totally buying it," he says of the study. "I'm below average height, and have above-average happiness." In his basketball work, Lee spends a lot of time around well-compensated human trees, and doesn't always see smiling faces. "There are plenty of NBA players who are absolutely miserable," Lee says. "They want more playing time, they feel underappreciated. Only a dozen or so guys feel that they are truly loved."
In his Wall Street days, Lee saw plenty of rich, happy short people and wealthy, depressed tall people. He does offer one reason why taller men might be happier. "Whenever I'm out with tall guys, they tend to get more attention from women," says Lee. "You never hear girls say, 'Hey, I'm really into short guys.'"
Lee directed me to one of the players he coaches, Coleman Collins, for the smart, tall guy's perspective. When I told him Lee questioned the findings, Collins, who is 6 ft. 9 in., wasn't surprised. "Short people are always ready to disagree," says Collins, who graduated from Virginia Tech when he was 19, after just three years, and played for the school's basketball team. He points out that he has many short friends. "Generally speaking, I've found that they are more likely to have a chip on their shoulder, more likely to have something to prove," Collins says.
Collins, now 23, supports the study's results. "I'm generally in a good mood," he says. "And based on the anecdotal evidence I've seen, tall people have a more pleasant disposition and are more easygoing. They don't have to make an extra effort to command attention. When they walk into a room, it tends to come naturally to them." Such recognition surely helps your self-esteem. If only it wasn't too late for you short people to have a growth spurt.

Shoes make the man, they say. Elevator shoes from TallMenShoes.com add to your height and communicate everything you need a good pair of shoes to say.
We're sure you know someone who puts almost no time and thought into getting good shoes. They often might not even wear them at all. You might even be that person. Most men we know can count off the pairs of shoes they own on one hand. They have the brown dress ones, the black dress ones, the casual ones, the sneakers and the junkers for wearing while mowing the lawn.
But the reality is that quality shoes are one of the most essential items a person can own. Here are the five biggest reasons why shoes are important and why you should never settle for inferior footwear.
Your clothing sizes change often during a person's life. Even once you're adult and have stopped growing vertically, your lifestyle can lead to pants and shirts no longer fitting like they used to. But a person's feet pretty much always stay the same size once they reach adulthood. You can wear a high-quality pair for years and even decades at a time. In other words, choosing the right shoes can literally have an impact on your life for years.
Every time you're standing, walking or running, your feet have to support your entire body. Even for the fittest adults, that's a lot of weight to bear. Shoes matter for your feet because they, in turn, support them during common activities. The insides of them also have padding, special insoles and other features so your feet will be comfortable. It certainly beats walking on hot concrete or rocky hills barefoot for hours on end.
Shoes can also be used to improve your biomechanics. Few people naturally have correct posture or alignment for walking and running. Footwear with the right support can easily correct these issues, giving you better form and preventing repetitive-stress problems.
A sprained wrist or sore hip will certainly limit what you can do during the day. But if your feet and ankles are hurt, you literally have trouble just getting around the house. Wearing good shoes provide a barrier against rocks, broken glass, water, fallen branches, wild animals and other things that can cause injury. If you have weak ankles, high-top shoes can keep them stable reduce the risk of sprains. They also protect against exposure to germs, fungi, viruses and parasites.
The reason there are so many types of shoes is that they are designed to perform well at different activities. Good running shoes will help you run faster and farther without being as tired. Industrial safety boots will protect your feet from hard impacts. Military boots allow the wearer to work on grounds covered with burning materials or sharp debris. And almost any pair of shoes gives you a better grip, so you don't slip and fall all the time.
Shoes always matter when it comes to fashion. The right pair can make or break an outfit. Owning good formal shoes and casual shoes lets you dress right for every occasion. Footwear is also a way of expressing your personality. Oftentimes, people can tell whether someone is reserved, outgoing, friendly or abrasive simply based on the shoes they wear. Additionally, shoes are frequently an indicator of a person's financial status, as well-off people tend to spend more on their shoes.
Why are most men taller than women? This age-old height difference persists to this day, according to research to be published in Proceedings B, a Royal Society journal, because taller than average men and shorter than average women were found to be more successful in attracting a mate and having children.
Dr. Daniel Nettle of the Open University used data from 10,000 men and women born in Britain in one week in March 1958 and his study concluded that the taller the men were, the less likely they were to be unmarried or childless 42 years later in 2000.
Dr. Nettle's study showed that there was a positive perception between male stature and reproductive success: the average man of 1.77m (5'8") is less likely to have children than a taller man of 1.83m (6'1"). This appeared to be due to taller men's greater ability to attract a mate.
For the women, by contrast, those most likely to be married and have children by the same age were between 1.51m (4'9") and 1.58 m (5'1"), well below the average height of 1.62 m (5'3").
Shakira and Gerard Pique: 5'0" and 6'4"
If you think you're a dud when it comes to putting yourself together for a night out or for a day at the office, get on the style bandwagon and get to know what's in, what's out, and most importantly, what's you. Read up on the latest in men's magazines.
If you don't trust your taste while shopping, bring along a trusted male or female companion (preferably female; a woman will have more patience accompanying you in malls) for the fashion ride, to help you pick out garments and give you an honest opinion on what looks good and what looks awful.
Most importantly: make sure you feel comfortable in whatever you decide to purchase.
Take the necessary time to groom properly and style your hair in a flattering way, in order to show off your facial features.
There are ways to make yourself look taller or at least flatter your height with the clothes you wear, along the same lines as wearing clothes to make yourself look thinner or larger.

Even if you've known someone for years, gift-giving can be hard. Shoes are no exception. Buying a pair of shoes for your boyfriend is a great way to show you care. After all, they're probably going to get a lot more use than a nice dinner or a movie ticket. But what shoes should you get for him - ones like he already owns, or a new style you think he needs? TallMenShoes.com has taken a look at both sides of this debate along with some other thoughts about shoe-shopping for your significant other.
Buying Shoes He Already Has
If your boyfriend's current pair of dress shoes, hiking boots, casual sneakers or loafers is looking worn out, the easiest thing to do is buy him a new pair exactly like them. Clearly, he must have liked them in order to wear them for that long, right? And you know they fit his foot shape at least reasonably well if he already owns them. You can also get a variation on what he currently owns. For example, get him a pair of walking shoes that are the same style as his current pair, but in a different color so they can go with other outfits.
But what if he was actually looking for something different with his next pair? Maybe the shoes wore out quicker than he wanted and he wanted to find something durable. Or perhaps he had gotten tired of a certain style or color and was ready for a new take. And you may have been so focused on what you thought he wanted that you missed what he actually wanted, such as some good slip-on's or a pair of sandals for the beach.
Buying New Shoe Styles
This is a riskier proposition, but one with much greater potential rewards. Guys absolutely love receiving the cap-toe oxfords they need to look professional at that new job or the winter boots to replace the pair that didn't survive the last snowstorm. And if you know he's had his eye on some trendy new sneakers or casual shoes, what better way to surprise him than with a gift-wrapped pair?
Of course, the big risk here is buying your boyfriend shoes that he isn't actually going to wear. It could be that those new shoes are actually too narrow, wide, short or long for his feet based on the manufacturer, or they might be the wrong color for his outfits. And it might be that he doesn't own a pair of wing-tips because he doesn't actually need or want them. There's nothing more awkward than a gift that gets him thinking you're trying to "make him change".
Final Shoe Thoughts
A good pair of formal dress shoes or casual shoes is usually a safe bet when shoe-shopping. Beyond that, as with many things in a relationship, communication is everything. You don't have to come right out and say that you want to buy your boyfriend new shoes. But try and find out what he likes and what sizes he wears through observation, conversation and his own comments. You'll be on your way to the perfect birthday or Christmas gift.
Pre-Interview Preparation
Part of getting ready for a job interview is learning about the company you're hoping to work at. That includes learning about the dress code as well. Consult any handbooks that might be available, look at pictures on their website or find a professional contact who can help. The office environment offers clues as well. A modern open-space office indicates a less formal working style, while traditional leather chairs and wood tables are a sign of stricter attire expectations. Whatever you deduce, always dress at least to the level of the company's current employees - and possibly higher if you think it will impress them.
Interview Shoes to Wear
When the dress code is formal, or even semi-formal, you can't go wrong with a pair of black cap-toe oxfords. This classic formal footwear can be paired with black-tie outfits and almost any color suit. Brogue wing-tip shoes are a good bet as well, whether it's a full, semi or quarter-brogue. The derby oxford is excellent for a smart casual interview atmosphere. Whatever type of oxford you're wearing, make sure the color coordinates with the rest of your outfit. If you're interviewing for a job in construction, outdoor work or another blue-collar field, you might want to bring some boots or work shoes with you in case the interviewer asks you to demonstrate your skills.
Shoes to Avoid
Some interview shoe choices are obviously bad - you wouldn't want to wear running sneakers, hiking boots or sandals to an office under any circumstances, for example. But some dress shoes need to be left at home as well. Don't be caught dead in loafers or any other type of slip-on. These shoes are good for business-casual dress and for traveling once you already have the job. But they're far too casual for when you're trying to land it. Shoes with buckles, such as double-monk straps, are okay for a laid-back startup, but a little too informal for a large conglomerate. Light-colored shoes should be avoided, too, as they are more likely to show stains from accidents or mud puddles en route to the interview.
Preparing your Interview Shoes
Once you've picked out your shoes, they need to be in tip-top shape throughout the interview: Make sure they're laced properly whether it's a closed or open lacing style. Improperly laced shoes look unprofessional and are more likely to come loose or chafe as you walk. Use a shoe repair kit to remove any minor scratches, scuffs or dings - if any part is noticeably worn, you're probably better off getting a different pair. You'll want to give them a good polish or at least wipe off any dust from sitting in the closet. And if they feel a little loose, add some inserts or wear thicker socks so they don't wobble. (Wear knee- or calf-length socks to avoid exposing your hairy legs.)
If you work at a company with a formal dress code or attend a lot of upscale functions and events, then you'll need elevator dress shoes. They are designed to be worn with suits, tuxedos and other fancy dress. Whether you prefer oxfords or derbies, open or closed lacing, brogue or square toe, there's a formal shoe that fits. Own at least one pair for boosting your presence when attending weddings, business meetings, fancy restaurants and black-tie events.
Height-Increasing Boots
Tall boots for men have traditionally been the most popular form of lift shoe. The generous amount of space in most boots is perfect for concealing the lifting layer. But it doesn't hurt that they look good for an assortment of activities. You can find high-heeled dress boots, work boots, hiking boots and urban outdoor boots. They'll help you feel more confident and look more impressive in any season.
High-Heeled Casual Shoes
Men who want maximum comfort while still looking good will want casual elevator shoes in their wardrobe. These are the ideal shoes for backyard barbeques, movies with friends and heading to the local café. Many of them are suitable for business casual attire as well. You'll have more fun in a pair of these because your style will be one less thing to worry about. When shopping, you can get casual shoes with a dressier or more athletic edge.
Loafers with High Heels
Sometimes you need to feel taller even when you're unwinding. Elevator loafers, otherwise known as lace-less shoes or slip-on shoes, are easy to get on and off when you have a quick errand to run or want to go to a relaxed party. It'll be a lot easier to crack a smile when you're feeling up to the task! Loafers can range from slip-on dress shoes and street shoes all the way down to cozy moccasins for evenings at home.
Elevator Sneakers
It's easier to be the athletic type when you have the height for it. High-heeled sport sneakers are perfect for runners, basketball players, hikers, skateboarders and everyone else who loves physical activities. You can make a fashion statement while going for a jog, climbing a mountain and attending games with friends or your girlfriend. Get high-tops, mid-cuts or low cuts, and you'll be in the game.
Lifting Sandals
Let the air flow through your toes during a summer day on the beach by wearing elevator sandals. Even on the most casual of days, you still want to impress, and some open-toed footwear will add a few inches without you getting weird looks while walking on the sand. The most common type of lift sandal is the fisherman sandal, because it's the best design for discreetly increasing your height.
The right suit can make the grooms body look great especially if he is trying to hide some of his previous sins.
For example to disguise a short thick neck choose a jacket with higher Nehru style collar. To add balance, try wearing darker shades on top with lighter trousers.
Below are some guides on dos and donts that you should try and remember when choosing clothes. Before making a decision you need to assess your body shape. Review your best and worst points of you body. This honest opinion of yourself will give you an idea as to what kind of look to go for. Dont make rash decisions on what to buy. You want to look your best and be Prince Charming so take your time to assess yourself and make a collection of clothing pictures you like from magazines and the internet.
Wider bodies As most men tend to carry their excess weight in the middle area of their torso purchase an outfit that will flatter your body which makes your torso slim and gives shape to all your angles.
Go for an outfit which is tailored to fit your shape as this has a slimming affect. You should look for an outfit which has long vertical clean lines to lengthen and slim the body. Even though the tradition is to wear light colours it is not necessary. Bold colours, horizontal stripes and plaids exaggerate the problem whereas darker shades help conceal the curves. Duppatas draped around your neck will flatter the body also.
Height Tall men are in general above 59. If you are in this height range assess which part of your body holds most of the height.
Long Body Go for a shorter jacket with embroidery
Long Legs Longer jacket and wider trousers and embroidery should be much less
Try and avoid dark colours as this will make you look thinner and therefore even taller.
Height Shorter men tend to be petite all over, avoid wearing clothes which completely swamp you, go for clothes which are fitted and give you height. Slim cut suits with a simple design are the perfect look. Ideally a made to measure suit would be a perfect complement which introduce height. Tailors in India can create a master piece for as little as 200 whereas in the UK the price will upwards of 500.
Size Thin men are characterized by a 29 inch or less waist and 14.5 inch or less neck. For your upper body go for a jacket which has embroidery and which gives you more body. Lighter colours with intricate designs would be great here, helping to create a bulking affect on the body.
Bottom Heavy Characteristics Narrow upper body, slim shoulders and smaller chest. Lower half is fairly wide with larger hips. Wear longer, v-neck style jackets. Add a heavy duppata or heavy embroidery which will capture the eye rather than draw attention to the lower part.
Top Heavy Characteristics Wide shouldered, broad arms, a thick neck and well developed chest. Narrow waist and slimmer legs. Go for a shorter jacket length, pick a jacket with a higher Nehru style collar which will help disguise a short, thick neck. Darker shades worn on top with lighter trousers will also add balance.
